About the Artists
Tiffany DeEtte & Timothy
Allan first visited the Hawaiian Islands on their honeymoon in 2001. They were
instantly enchanted with its incredible beauty and found themselves drawn back to make
Hawaii their permanent home. With Timothy’s years in stone, glass, and metal and Tiffany’s
years as an interior designer, the two found a way to combine their talents and create
together beautiful Hawaiian Heirlooms.
Hawaiian Koa wood, a species endemic to the Hawaiian Islands, is the central focus of
their work. The Koa used to sculpt this box is harvested from dead, fallen, and dying
trees, many of which have been lying on the ground for decades. DeEtte & Allan made a
memorable trip to the mill site and were awed by the sheer beauty of their surrounding and
the extent of work it takes to create the lumber used to make their boxes. They developed
a much deeper appreciation for the people and the wood that makes it possible for them to
follow their passion of creating beautiful Hawaiian Heirlooms. Together, they breathe new
life into this stunning wood, giving it the opportunity to live on and be appreciated as
art.
DeEtte & Allan accent
the beautiful Hawaiian Koa with tropical and exotic hardwoods, creating striking
contrasts. Their style is an eclectic mix of influences from Asian, European and American
furnishings, but their primary influence comes from Mother Nature herself. No stains are
used in their creations. The beautiful natural color contrasts and strong design elements make their work recognizable.
