How to Get Your Hawai‘i Craftsmen Member Web Site Page

One of the benefits of membership in our organization is a personal web page on the Hawai‘i Craftsmen web site. This revised site is receiving critical acclaim for its visual and functional presence on the web. The member’s personal pages will have an address that includes your name, a convenient option for marketing your work. For example the address for one member is www.hawaiicraftsmen.org/RonKent.htm. Our website designer, Marsha Eaton, provides the overall site management.

We have provided a form covering the information that will appear on your page if you need to send us your data via snail mail, or use it as a check-list to send the data via email. Please try to submit your information in electronic format if at all possible and it will posted quickly.  Include your artist statement, a resume, list of exhibitions/awards, etc. Also tell us the art media category that identifies your art between: clay, glass, fabric, metal, wood, stone, mixed media.  Don't forget the contact information you want to appear on the page and provide title and size and price for any pieces you want to show that are for sale. Photos will be resized to fit the limitations of the page.

Eligibility:

  • Current dues paying member of Hawai‘i Craftsmen

  • Submit information that is useable on the site

Web Page Content:

  • Up to four images of your work

  • One photo of yourself

  • Unlimited text (resume, bio, artists statement, etc)

  • A link to your own web site

  • Artist contact information (we suggest using your email address only)

  • Your craft media category (clay, glass, metal, fiber, wood or mixed)

Procedure:

  • Electronic -send your text and images to Marsha Eaton marshaweb@gmail.com.

  • Snail mail hard copy and images - Hawai‘i Craftsmen, 1159 Nuuanu Avenue
    Honolulu, HI 96817 (enclosed SASE if your want your images returned)

  • Drop off to Hawai‘i Craftsmen office - 1159 Nuuanu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96817 (call first, 808-521-3282.)

If you need help with generating images of your work we have several options:

  • Schedule a group photo session at The ARTS at Marks Garage; call if you are interested in this option (fee will depend on amount of participation).

  • Schedule a studio visit to photo your work at your location ($25.00 for up to one hour). Contact Marsha to arrange this option- 921-2117

  • Let us scan your slides or photos ($10 for 4-5 slides, $5 for 4-5 photos). Contact Marsha to arrange this option- 921-2117

Please note these photographs are not high quality or high resolution. They are perfect for use on web sites, but not for high quality printing.
