AHA HANA LIMA 2006

  

`Aha Hana Lima is Hawai`ian for Gathering of the Crafts.

Presented by Hawai‘i Craftsmen in conjunction with the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa Department of Art and Art History and The ARTS at Marks Garage.

`Aha Hana Lima Workshops 2006

Hawai`i Craftsmen will sponsor our annual `Aha Hana Lima workshops March 25, 26 and 27, 2006. This year the featured artists will be Clay artist Arthur Gonzalez, Wood artist David Marks, Glass artist Hank Murta Adams, and Metal artist Janet Berg.  The artists will also give a free slide lecture about their work on Thursday, March 23 at 6:30 pm following a reception at 5:30. The lecture is open to the public and will be held at the Doris Duke Theater, Honolulu Academy of Arts, 900 S. Beretania Street.

Workshops: March 25-27, 2006, 9:00 am through 4:00 pm. Wood, Clay and Glass workshops will be held at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa Department of Art and Art History, Art Building, first floor, Diamond Head side. Metal workshop will be held at Linekona, the Academy Art Center, 1111 Victoria Street.

A Potluck Dinner/ Hawai`i Craftsmen Annual Meeting will be held Sunday, March 26, 2006, 5:30 pm at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa, Art Building, ceramics courtyard. For more information please call 596-8128.

Scholarships are available through Hawai‘i Craftsmen. Call 596-8128 for an application. Completed scholarship application deadline: Wednesday, March 1, 2006.

The "observe only" status is no longer available to current Hawai‘i Craftsmen members for any of the scheduled workshops.
